Default Target Next Ally

In the Options (F11) Control panel, there are options for binding keys to Target Foe - Nearest, Target Foe - Previous, Target Foe - Next, Target Item - Nearest, Target Item - Next, Target Item - Previous, and Target Ally - Nearest.

My question is, why aren't there options to target the Next and Previous allies like there are to target Foes and Items? I understand that in a party where there is a MM or two it would be ridiculous to scroll through minions, but that's irrelevant, because there should at least be the option. In towns and whatnot, it would be great to be able to scroll through the NPCs just like you can with players. And when playing outside of towns, it would be great to scroll through allies, party members or not.

There doesn't seem to be a reason not to have this function, and it actually seems odd that it doesn't exist.

i've always wondered this myself. there is a target next and previous party member i have then set up to the + and - on my number pad, which is where my skills are mapped as well. I would also love to use it for in town/gh as a shortcut to finding the merchant/rune trader ect.

You can make bind for 'select party member no X', if that might be of any help...

No thanx, id rather a key to bind specific targets on the enemy team. Would make swapping around watching for key spells to interupt easier.

Yes, I know keys can be bound to specific party members. Basically, it just makes no sense to leave out this functionality for allies when it is already included for foes and items. There really is no reason why it shouldn't exist.

Also, Luminarus, the two wouldn't be mutually exclusive...

It would be easier if there was a generic 'target next of the same kind'.

That way you could:
- Target an enemy, hit Tab, next enemy is selected.
- Target a party member, hit Tab, next party member is selected.
- Target a pet, hit tab, next pet is selected.
- Target a non-party member ally, hit tab, select next non-party member ally.
- Target an item in the groud, hit tab, next item is selected.
- Target a bundle, hit Tab, next bundle is selected.
- Target a placeable object, hit tab, next placeable is selected.

And so on.

I agree, I noticed this as well a few years back. It's pretty weird, and it would actually be somewhat useful.
